NVH is the term used to refer to the measurement and management of the noise and vibration characteristics of a vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers will optimise NVH by minimising the noise and vibrations felt by the driver. The components of a vehicle that cause noise and vibration will be tuned to reduce or eliminate the impact of NVH. Due to the resonant frequencies of vehicle components, rather than trying to eliminate the vibration of one component, the vibrations of other components in the vehicle at opposing frequencies can be used to eliminate the noise.
