Inboard Joint

The inboard joint connects a sideshaft to the differential and compensates for length change and angle between wheel and transmission resulting from suspension movement.

Interconnecting Shaft

This is the shaft between two joints with splines at each end. For sideshafts the interconnecting shaft can be a bar shaft, welded tubular shaft or monobloc tubular shaft.

Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)

This is a type of onboard engine where fuel combines with air, and it's compressed untill it explodes in the combustion chamber. This results in the creation of mechanical energy that can be used to power the vehicle.
